I'm not pro Utah or anti TCU, but that could not have been a worse officiated game. The ssssllllloooowwww clock, the horrible run the clock with 28 seconds left forcing Utah to use a T.O. and the illegal play to win the game. The WR literally block the DB on a "rub" route. All calls in favor of TCU and really an embarrassment on national T.V. when the announcers cannot help but comment on the bad calls.

I saw that rub too. I don't know if the tv people talked about it, because I turned the channel in digust. Amazing home baked officiating and clock operating. AMAZING.

I would be pissed for years to come at TCU if I were Utah. Maybe the rest of the MWC is watching this and will venge the injustice. huh.gif

TCU has now defeated two top 10 teams from last year on national TV.

That is fantastic for TCU, and I'm happy for them.

Boy, don't you know that they're regretting the 'Hiccup on the Hilltop' now.

Don't worry the frogs will shoot themselves in the foot plenty of times...

Ha, Id say losing to SMU qualifies...

Yes, Herbie was commenting on it and he had a legitimate point. At first I thought maybe it was just some vendetta againt Texas teams after his beloved Buckeyes got beat, but after seeing the play again, UTAH got robbed. Not the play Id want to decide a game

Looked like a good block to me.  What was illegal about it?

The clock running thing was totally wrong though.  Typical TCU officiating.

I think that is their point is that is WAS a block. The ball was in the air when the block happened right?

you guys are forgetting the "catch" that was ruled incomplete by review, would have set the Frogs up inside the Utah 20, and the 2 or 3 procedure calls in a row to take the frogs out of good field position.

I hardly think the officiating was one sided, it was bad all around.

great win for the Frogs.

Agree, ADLER, and when do we as Texans start pulling for a school all the way from freakin' Utah to beat one of our own? sad.gif

When they recuit against us.

Why would I root for some other Texas school? They don't represent me, North Texas does.

If there was any possible way for UT, A&M, TT, SMU, TCU, Rice, Baylor, etc could go 0-11 for the next 50 years, I would want it to happen.

That was an illegal block. We called it a "pick" when one receiver came over an blocked one of us off our our guy while the ball was in the air. That used to draw a flag every time? The commentators for the TCU game did catch it, but the game was over with a "no-call". You could see the Utah coaching staff screaming at the officials the second it happened. I know mistakes will always be made by officials...they are human. I have to think that if there is an error made, at least it was in favor of the home team. Should a similar issue cone up in a NT game, I think we would all feel like TCU does today. A win is a win....

I can sympathize with Utah about the call, but, on the other hand, if you don't want it to come down to the last play (and the chances for a bad call/non-call), you take care of business before then.

I didn't hear them say so ,but I assume the officials were Mountain West officials. This would include the clock operator. The clock operator did stop the clock on the disputed play, then after a few seconds started it again when he decided the other official was really telling him to keep the clock running.

The winning play was a pick play. Still glad TCU won.

I'm also for Texas teams when they play out of state teams. this helps recruiting Texas players to stay in state.

Wow... This thread is amazing. We've got green goggles, I tell ya!

TCU played very well, there were bad calls that went both ways, like in most games. TCU wins won't hurt us. More attention to Metroplex football can only help UNT in the long run.

There is no Metroplex football...it's Big 12 first, then SMUt and TCU if they're doing well or have a big win, then if all else is bad...then UNT may get some pub.
